Centre News this fall!

This fall All Saint’s Mission is participating in the inter-parish ministry of the Centre for Spiritual Renewal. Deeping into contemplative practices began a while ago and has become an important part of the foundation for All Saints as they continue to develop their presence, ministry, and building development in Mission, BC. There are now five parishes involved and connecting in this ministry in the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland. A big welcome to the Reverend Paul Bowie (rector), the Centre planning team, and to this warm and welcoming parish!

A note from the Reverend Paul Bowie, rector at All Saint's, Mission:

"All Saints, Mission is pleased to be part of the Centre for Spiritual Renewal.  Partnerships between Parishes is an important ministry in our fragmented world.  We are proud to be able to add our ministries to the ongoing ministry of Spiritual Renewal.  Beyond Sunday Morning Worship All Saints has developed ministries of Healing Prayer, Lectio Divina, Labyrinth Prayer Walking, Mid-week Eucharist, Bible Study, and occasional Workshops.  It is an eclectic group of ministries designed to engage a wide range of spiritual preferences and practices.  Through our  partnerships we can all participate in the ongoing Spiritual Renewal of the Church."

A note from parishioner Molly, who is on the Centre leadership team.

"All Saints, Mission is so happy to report that the small steps toward launching our own Centre for Spiritual Renewal has been enthusiastically received by a core group of attendees. Since last spring, when we introduced twenty-minute Contemplative Prayer sessions before our Thursday morning Eucharist, the group of attendees is usually between four to eight or more regulars. In July, as there was no Eucharist, we added Lectio Divina followed by walking the Labyrinth.  Attendees continue to express their need to attend and their thankfulness for personal growth. Clearly, the Holy Spirit is at work each time we meet!   We will continue to build on this beginning as we are able."
